PDO (Polydioxanone) thread is the same thread used in Cardiac and other surgeries as sutures, and thus it is very safe. The procedure is suitable for most people from 25 onwards, when the effects of ageing become apparent. Ageing causes the skin tissue to thin because the collagen and elastin fibers break down, resulting in sagging skin, deep creases, folds and wrinkles. PDO thread reverses the effects of ageing.

During the procedure, multiple threads are implanted into the sub-dermal skin in a mesh pattern. These will stimulate the production of collagen and the skin becomes firmer, more elastic and moisturised. The thread dissolves itself in a few months but the effects can last for 12-18 months

The thread can be applied to anywhere on the body, such as a face, cheeks, eyebrows, to prevent eye bags, sagging neck skin, fine lines around cheeks, angle around the mouth, laugh lines, abdomen, smokers lines and lifting of breast.

What is PDO?

Polydioxanone (PDO), synthetic absorbable monofilament thread is commonly used in cardiovascular surgery and fine ligatures. It is ultra thin thread made from polydioxanone (PDO) a thread which dissolves in a few months and which yields amazing rejuvenation results. The application of the thread is practically non-invasive and painless, takes up to an hour, leaves no scaring or cuts and any minor redness quickly disappears. In addition, you can apply it almost anywhere on the body.

Frequently asked questions

When does the effect appear and how long does it last?

The first effects are visible after 2-3 weeks, but considerable improvement appears after 2-3 months, when induction of new collagen begins.

The effect is long lasting (usually from 12 to 18 months).

Therapy schedule

A thorough medical consultation is performed before the treatment, during which the doctor discusses in detail the principle and effects of the treatment. The procedure takes approximately one hour depending on the number of threads used. On average, approximately 40-50 threads are needed for the face.

First, the treated area is anaesthetised with cream, following which the doctor implants threads in the correct manner to achieve the desired results.

Post-treatment recommendations

There are no contraindications against returning to the normal daily activity after the treatment. Reddening at the thread introduction spots will normally disappear 3-5 hours after the treatment.
