Dermapen Microneedling

This revolutionary treatment is an excellent method of radically improving skin health and appearance. Dermapen promotes scar-less healing and natural collagen production, similar to fractional laser treatments, IPL laser resurfacing, dermaroller or chemical peels, but without the side effects and downtime. Dermapen can effectively treat hard to reach areas such as around the eyes nose and lips and is ideal for treating the following concerns:

During treatment, the Dermapen is passed over the area to be treated, and inserts tiny needles into the skin, leaving minute puncture wounds. These tiny punctures trigger the body’s wound healing response and encourage the body to renew the skin cells in that area. While the body repairs the skin, it increases the production of collagen and elastin, plumping the area, and diminishing wrinkles, scars and hyper-pigmentation. Depending on the condition being addressed, a course of 3-5 treatments is usually recommended. Dermaroller compared to Dermapen

One of the advantages of Dermapen is the increased comfort and more targeted results compared to older methods of micro needling such as dermaroller. As the needles enter vertically into the skin rather than at an angle, there is far less discomfort and less damage to the surface of the skin than would be experienced with a Dermaroller treatment. Also, our Dermapen treatments include Retinal-Active or Bright-Lite needling serums for more pronounced results on fine lines and wrinkles, scars, stretch marks, hyper-pigmentation or acne

Post Treatment

During the skin healing process, minor itching, flaking or redness may appear. This should fade within a few days. Light oil-free make-up can be applied 24 hours post-procedure. You should avoid sauna, steam and intensive cardio 48 hours pre and post treatment.

Please note – Dermapen is not suitable for patients with the following conditions –

Keloid Scars, Papulopustular Rosacea, Herpes Simplex, Scleroderma, Open Lesions, Skin Cancer, Acne Vulgaris Stage 3-4, Warts, Bacterial / Fungal Infections, Haemophilia, Pregnancy.

We cannot treat over any tattoos or semi-permanent make-up.

This treatment cannot be performed if you are taking roaccutane or similar anti acne medications. 6 months delay before treatment is necessary after taking these forms of medication.

Those with cardic conditions, auto-immune disorders and taking various medications to thin the blood will need to check with their doctor and provide a doctors note prior to commencing treatment.

Retinol skin care lotions or any items containing AHA or BHA should not be used in the 5 days prior to treatment.

In the 2 weeks prior to treatment you should avoid significant sun exposure and any kind of fake tanning. We will be unable to treat you if any trace of fake tan is found on your skin.
